DESCRIPTION: In the center of Old Town Square is a monument to Jan Hus, a religious reformer of the 15th century. It has been determined that the Prague area was densely populated as early as the Paleolithic Age and in the 5th and 6th centuries Slavs settled the area. In the 9th century Prague Castle was founded and in 973 the Bishopric of Prague was established at St. Vitus Church and Prague began to grow into one of the main cultural centers of Europe.
