The profile of an ideal student for the profession of landscape architecture is one who is creative, socially conscious, ecologically aware, committed, inquisitive, curious about cross-cultural issues, receptive to learning, and interested in the visual arts. The admissions process identifies students who are active in their communities, aware of current issues that affect their environment, have creative potential and are in good academic standing. Follow these steps to apply
Step Three: Present Creative Work Referred applicants will be contacted by the College of Design and invited to participate in Admissions Review Days which will occur during late January and early February. Due to the number of applicants being seen, appointments cannot be rescheduled unless there are extreme extenuating circumstances. Applicants are required to submit a 200-word essay on the subject: "Why do you want to study landscape architecture?" Applicants should also bring a collection of “creative work” that reflects creative potential. Examples could include drawings, photographs, papers, artwork, poems, reports, studies, performances or objects of various types. Student should be prepared to discuss these items. Applicants will be interviewed by a committee of two faculty and one student. Each applicant should be prepared to address the following issues orally:
The College of Design reserves the right to deny applicants who submit fraudulent or plagiarized materials. Creative work and the essay should be the product of the student only. |
