Step One: Apply to NC State

Freshmen and Off-campus transfers must complete the appropriate university application and submit it to NC State University Undergraduate Admissions Office by December 1. Applicants must indicate Architecture as the first choice of major (curriculum code). Applicants are encouraged to specify a second curriculum choice in another academic program which is not in the College of Design. If not admitted to the College of Design, applicants may be considered for acceptance in their second choice.

Off-campus applicants who are transferring from another NAAB-accredited architecture program may be considered as lateral transfers and should read the College of Design’s guidelines for lateral entry prior to making application.

NC State (On-campus) transfers must submit an internal application directly to the Student Affairs Office at the College of Design by December 1. Applications are available at the college or may be downloaded from the Web site.

Do not send portfolios or personal statements to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Portfolios and personal statements will be requested by the School of Architecture once the applicant is referred by undergraduate admissions - and should not be submitted until requested. Materials submitted early will be discarded.
