Note: Before attempting to install the Novell client on a Windows computer, make sure that you have established network access through the College of Design's StudioNet. If you've not already signed up for StudioNet, the online application is linked from the StudioNet information page.
NEW! This procedure has been automated! No more lengthy instructions!
It is recommended that you finish the entire installation once you start it, as an incomplete installation could prevent you from logging in correctly. The whole process should take no more than 5 minutes.
Installation Program
In order to have access to NCSUNDS on a Windows computer, including the WolfCopy printers in the College of Design and your own profile storage space, you need to install the Novell network client.
We've created a script that automatically installs the Novell client for you, and configures it to work with NCSUNDS.
NOTES:
- This script MUST be opened within Internet Explorer. It will NOT work correctly if you attempt to open it within any other Web browser (including Firefox, Mozilla, Opera, etc.).
- You MUST run this script while connected to StudioNet. It will fail if you're off campus.
Click the installer icon to begin the installation process:

Windows may prompt you to save or run the file. If you're asked to choose, make sure that you RUN the file. DO NOT SAVE IT. You'll see a screen appear with some instructions:
When the installation completes, you will be asked to reboot your machine. Save any open work, then exit your programs and restart your computer.
Finishing Up
When the computer finishes restarting, you should presented with the Novell login screen. You will need to make a minor adjustment in order to log in.
Hit the Advanced button. This should cause several options to appear. In this window, locate the "Tree:" drop-down menu. Click the down arrow and select the tree labled NCSUNDS.

In the "Username:" textbox, type in your Unity UserID. If everything's working correctly, then the login screen will, after a few moments, automatically fill in the "Context:" text box with login data.
Type your password, and make sure that "Workstation only" is NOT checked. Then hit OK to login. You will be presented with a second login window, for your local computer account. Fill in the information for your local account, then hit OK to finish the login process.
NOTE: This may not work if you're connecting via a wireless connection. You may have to check the "Workstation Only" checkbox, and login with your local computer account FIRST, in order to get connected to the Internet. The Novell Client generally does not work at first when you connect via wireless.
You should now be logged in to you computer. You will need to also install WolfCopy printers on your computer before you can access them. Proceed to Installing WolfCopy Printers on a Windows Computer for instructions.
If you have trouble, please contact the College of Design IT staff in Brooks 202-204 for help. If you have a laptop, bring it with you. You can also send an email to design_help@ncsu.edu with specific information about your problem.
