Joseph H. Cox Memorial Fund Endowment
Donor: Estate of Joe Cox (established 1997)
Award Amount: $3,500
Provide an annual scholarship award known as the "Joseph H. Cox Memorial Award" to an outstanding member of the senior class enrolled in the NC State School of Design. The award recipient should demonstrate remarkable artistic and innovative talents, sound scholastic goals, good citizenship standards, and humanitarian values as to be a credit to the class. The Dean of the College of Design and a faculty committee to be appointed by the Dean shall determine the scholarship recipient and the amount of the award each year from the income of the endowment principal.

Dean's Academic Enhancement Scholarship
Donor: NCSU Design Guild (established 1990)
Award Amount: $3,000
This scholarship compliments the NC State University one-year Academic Enhancement Scholarship by continuing funding of $1,000 per student or a total of $3,000 divided equally to qualified students after their first year. The criteria for this scholarship continuation are based on the highest level of need for the sophomore year and grade point averages at the end of their freshman year. Decisions are made by the Associate Dean and Director of Student Affairs for the College of Design.

Pamela G. & Richard D. Jones, Jr. Endowed Scholarship
Donor: Pamela G. and Richard D. Jones (established 2000)
Award Amount: $1,200
Provide scholarship support for students in the College of Design at N.C. State University. This scholarship award is based on academic merit with financial need as the second criteria by a Scholarship Awards Committee in the College of Design for one academic year and may be renewable if the recipient maintains satisfactory progress as determined by the Scholarship Award Committee.

Jay Purvis Scholarship Endowment
Donor: Barbara L. and Julius H. Purvis, Jr. (established 2001)
Award Amount: $1,500
Provide one or more annual scholarship awards known as the Jay Purvis Scholarship(s) for students enrolled in the Graphic Design and/or Art and Design Programs, or their equivalents. The award shall be made by the Dean or his/her designee, in accordance with established procedures for awarding need based scholarships. Awards shall be for one academic year and may be renewable if the recipient maintains satisfactory academic progress as determined by his or her department head. The scholarship was given in memory of the life of Julius H. (Jay) Purvis IV (1955-1987), a 1977 alumnus.

Duncan Stuart Design Scholarship
Donor: various friends of Duncan Stuart (established 1996)
Award Amount: $1,000 and $500
Provide annual scholarship to students entering the College of Design, either as a first year students or transfer students, to encourage creative thinking and action. Award shall be made by the Dean of the College of Design or his/her designee in accordance with the College's established procedures for awarding merit-based scholarships. The scholarship will be available to the recipient in two equal installments, one at the first of each semester. Students must be enrolled in the College of Design for continued eligibility of the scholarship each semester. This scholarship may not be awarded to the same student more than once.

The Vernon Shogren Award
Donor: Estate of Emeritus Professor Vernon Shogren
Award Amount: approximately up to $10,000
This award honors the memory of Vernon Shogren (1927-1995) professor of Architecture at the College of Design from 1953-55 and 1961-92. Awards are available for students, faculty and alumni to encourage exploration of alternative directions in design and architecture and to promote unique study and scholarship. An external Awards Committee makes an annual Request for Proposals, reviews the application submissions and makes the awards. More than one award can be given.

Wendy L. Olson Fellowship Enhancement Endowment for Public Service in Landscape Architecture
Donor: Brian Dodge (established 2005)
Award amount: $1,250 or more to up to 4 recipients
This award honors the memory of Wendy L. Olson (MLA 1990). The Olson Fellowship is a testament to Olson’s dedication to not only the profession of landscape architecture, but to the importance of giving back through public service to the community. The endowment honors Wendy Olson's work and her belief that we must all share the gifts that we are given and use them to make the environment and our communities better. The Olson Fellowship provides funds for landscape architecture graduate student recipients to start or complete a public service project that protects or enhances the environment. Preference will be given to projects undertaken on the behalf of local governments, public agencies and non-profit or charitable organizations.

Design Dimension
Donor: Design Dimension Inc.
Award Amount: $2,000
Priority will be given to applicants pursuing two majors within the College of Design. However, this opportunity is not limited to dual majors. Applicants for the scholarship should be students who have demonstrated a passion for design, are self-motivated, rigorously disciplined, and are committed to learning. This scholarship is designed to promote a mentoring relationship, providing the opportunity for students and staff to collaborate in the problem solving process. The recipient will perform a paid internship at Design Dimension, Inc. during the summer between the Junior and Senior academic years. The scholarship portion of the internship/scholarship will apply during the Senior academic year. The amount of the scholarship is $2,000.

Applicants must provide:
1. a brief letter of intent indicating why you are applying for this scholarship
2. verification of Junior standing and GPA
3. 3 letters of recommendation from faculty from at least 2 different departments/schools within the College of Design
4. a brief resume
5. a slide or digital portfolio of your work
