Glenn Lewis, IDSA, is an industrial designer with extensive experience in product development in West Africa. A founding co-chair of Design for the Majority, Professional Interest Section of the Industrial Design Society of American. Professor Lewis has practiced the disciplines of interactive multi-media, graphic, and product design. He joined the College of Design faculty in 1993 as department chair. In the private sector, he served as project designer with both Herman Miller, Inc. and Texas Instruments. He also consulted in multi-media with numerous corporations including Coca Cola and General Motors Pontiac. Professor Lewis has served an appointment as visiting lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. He has consulted, developed and taught a series of technology courses for Aid to Artisan Ghana. Prior to NC State University, Professor Lewis served on the faculty of the University of Cincinnati, and the Georgia Institute of Technology. He holds BFA and MFA degrees in Communications Art, Sculpture, and M.Pd. in Industrial Design with extensive study in digital technology and rapid prototyping. |
