Fernando Magallanes

Professor Fernando Magallanes is a registered landscape architect and associate professor of landscape architecture. At the College of Design he has taught graduate and undergraduate design studios in landscape architecture, drawing, construction and materials, pre-20th century landscape history, and a seminar on contemporary landscape architecture.

In the summer he travels with students to Spain and the Czech Republic to develop their observation skills and understanding of history and current issues influencing the making of "place." His travel, research, drawings and competition entries have advanced his search for historical and cultural influences impacting designers and designs. Professor Magallanes is fluent in Spanish.
