Students enrolled in Master's degree program with concentration in Visual Design who demonstrate outstanding academic qualifications as evidenced by the ability to articulate in verbal, written and graphic communications. Department Head nominates, in writing, student(s) who
meet the criteria; final approval by the Dean.

Jay Purvis Scholarship
Donor: Mr. and Mrs. Julius H. Purvis
Award amount: $1,500
Provide one or more annual scholarship awards known as the Jay Purvis Scholarship(s) for students enrolled in the Graphic Design and/or Art and Design Programs, or their equivalents. The award shall be made by the Dean or his/her designee, in accordance with established procedures for awarding need based scholarships. Awards shall be for one academic year and may be renewable if the recipient maintains satisfactory academic progress as determined by his or her department head. The scholarship was given in memory of the life of Julius H. (Jay) Purvis IV (1955-1987), a member of the graduating class of 1977.
