Notes:  

  • No more than one studio may be taken in any semester.
  • The sequence of elective courses is illustrative only and not mandatory. Students may schedule elective courses in any order that supports their educational objectives.
  • Foreign Language proficiency at 101/102 levels is required for graduation, but does not count toward the degree requirements.
  • Students who change majors within the College of Design are advised to check regarding the application of their general education requirements toward a degree in the new major. Requirements vary among departments.
  • At least one of the elective courses must focus on a non-English speaking culture(s) identified by asterisks in NCSU General Education Requirement list.
  • The Fall Semester of the Senior Year may be taken at the Prague Institute or some other approved international program.

 

  1. Choose two courses from University GER lists in Humanities or Social Sciences.
  2. Must be selected from the following list: ANT 261, SOC 203, SOC 220, and SOC 261. These courses satisfy requirements related to human behavior.
  3. Choose any course from University GER list in Social Sciences except from Anthropology and Sociology list.
  4. Choose any course from University GER list in Literature.
  5. Choose three courses from University GER list in Natural Sciences. Two must be in different basic sciences and two must have labs.
  6. Choose from the University GER list in Advanced Writing, Speech and Foreign Languages.
  7. Choose from the University GER list in Science, Technology and Society (Science Perspective).
  8. ARC 402 Architectural Design: Advanced may be substituted with one 6 credit hour design studio from the following list: ADN 400, 460, 470, 480; GD 201, 202; ID 201; and LAR 200, 400.
