See below for instruction on backing up your documents. The methods listed below reflect the standard storage locations for documents on Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows. If you keep your documents elsewhere, you will need to back up that folder instead of the default location listed here. If you need assistance with locating your documents, please speak with an IT Staff member or email design_help@ncsu.edu.
Macintosh Documents
Macintosh documents are stored, by default, in ~user/Documents, as shown below. Copy this folder to your backup location. If you keep your documents in another folder on your hard drive, then you will need to copy that folder(s) to your backup location.

Windows Documents
To back up your Documents, go to C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername. Then copy the My Documents folder to your backup location. If you keep your documents in another folder on your hard drive, then you will need to copy that folder(s) to your backup location.
