Student Affairs at the College of Design serves as a point of contact for prospective and enrolled students. Recruitment, admissions, retention and outreach programs are Student Affairs initiatives. Staff members serve as student advocates who connect design students to resources provided by the University such as financial assistance, housing, special programs, the student health service and the counseling center.

Students enjoy a picnic outside Kamphoefner HallStudents are encouraged to strive for a well-rounded college experience by participating in one or more of the University's 300 clubs and organizations. Intramural, recreational sports, sororities, fraternities, clubs and special programs abound at NC State University and welcome your participation. Students are also encouraged to participate in Cooperative Education opportunities and internships that enrich and expand learning by providing sponsored work assignments in industry and business.


Scholarship Update

The College of Design will offer six scholarships ranging from $700 to $1,500 to incoming first year students based on merit and/or need as determined by the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid. Applicants must complete the University Financial Application, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and a 400 word essay. The Essay should be submitted electronically to marva_motley@ncsu.edu (MS Word format, 12 point type) on or before April 1, 2008. Decisions will be made before May 1, 2008.

What does individuality, the freedom from prejudice, the value of diversity, the right to access knowledge, and the desire to seek knowledge beyond established disciplines have to do with becoming a model designer?

Tell us about your background and Indicate how scholarship funds will be used (how will this scholarship benefit you educationally). If you are a transfer student who chose design after working towards another career option, please share why you are considering design now.
