Study Abroad

The College of Design offers numerous opportunities for study abroad, through formal programs and exchanges with other institutions, as well as through individual faculty and departmental initiatives. Some departments require a study abroad experience for all undergraduates.

Students have, through the University, attended courses abroad in countries such as Austria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, England, Germany, Ghana, Greece, India, Italy, the Netherlands, Scotland, Spain, Turkey, and Venezuela.

Go to STUDY ABROAD for current opportunities offered by the College of Design and other NC State colleges.

The College also encourages students, at their own initiative, to propose to department heads unique foreign study experience, for which they could receive Independent Study or special course credit.

The Prague Institute, an initiative of the College of Design, operates a year-round institute in Prague, Czech Republic. Each semester and summer, the institute offers Design Studios, seminars and courses fulfilling general education requirements. The activities of the institute are supported and directed by a resident Director and taught by visiting NC State faculty and local designers and scholars. The institute serves as a home base for the exploration of educational, research and professional opportunities in other European countries.
