You must be logged in as an administrator on your machine. Before you can make a backup of your data in Windows, you need to make sure you have View Hidden Files and Folders activated in the Windows Explorer viewing options. To activate this function, double click on My Computer, then click on the Tools menu and then Folder Options. Click on the View tab and you should see the following menu. Under Hidden files and folders, click on the radio button beside Show hidden files and folders. Click OK and you're ready to start backing up your data.
